A Wandering Boy
A boy is smiling and sitting up in a bed. He has one hand on a bedside table. On the table is a tray with a bowl of cereal, a mug, a glass, and a plate with toast. The boy is wearing a napkin as a bib. Caption reads: "A wandering boy, Jerome Mrozak, 23 months, 1335 S. 21st St., smiled over his breakfast at Johnston municipal hospital Saturday. Jerome's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mrozak, say he had just learned to open doors. He opened one at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday and strolled into an alley, wearing diapers and an undershirt. A woman saw him and took him to a near-by home. Police who were called took him to the hospital and checked the neighborhood to find where he lived. Jerome seemed to enjoy himself in the hospital, scampering in and out of bed over its high sides." |
