Earl G. Scherbert
A man is sitting on the rear of a toy car, which is being driven by a girl. Several children are walking alongside the car. Caption reads: "The most popular man in the neighborhood with the children is Earl G. Scherbert of 4105 N. 26th St., and why not? Scherbert, a garage man, built a little automobile powered by a gasoline engine. He gives rides to youngsters on a parking lot evenings and Saturdays when he has time. It is not unusual for him to ride children around for a couple of hours. Scherbert used old auto fenders, channel iron, wheelbarrow wheels and bicycle parts to make the car. For safety's sake, Scherbert rides along on the rear fenders of the car while the youngsters steer." |
