Ed Gein lived a solitary life on his family homestead with his brother and domineering mother who instilled in him a belief that sex was a sin. Gein became a grave robber and was suspected of killing several women. In 1957 he was arrested and the news of his crimes was made public with stories in Life and Time magazines. The movies "Psycho" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" are both based loosely on Gein's life. Addenda: "To Gein's left is Leon "Specks" Murty, deputy and to his right is Arthur Schley, Sheriff of Waushara County" according to Pam Anderson, 3/14/06. Published in the Wisconsin State Journal on November 20, 1957. Also see Image IDs: 11803, 41775, 41776, 41777, 41778 and 139360. |
