This house was bought by Dr. J.T. Reeve, probably about 1866, from the family of the druggist Henry Foster. It was much enlarged after purchase. The west wing was enlarged and raised to 2 stories. Dr. Reeves' office was on the ground floor of this wing. The carriage entrance to the barn was on Market Street, at that time the farmers' market for wool and for poultry and small pigs. The white picket fence was characteristic of that period. |
