Telephone workers picket at the telephone exchange on Capitol Square, near the corner of Main and Carroll Streets. Seven hundred Madison telephone employees participated in the country's first nationwide telephone strike. Picket signs include "We'll walk day and nite until MA BELL is not so tight". |
