REPLACED ORIGINAL FIREHOUSE DESTROYED IN 1908 FIRE 5 STORY HOSE TOWER W/ MANSARD ROOF MAKE BLDG A VISUAL LANDMARK ORIGINAL FIRE DOORS ALTERED CORBELLED CORNICE AND EAVE ROUND ARCH ENTRANCES W/ KEYSTONES STONE SILL AND LINTEL COURSES

"Built to replace the previous firehouse which was, ironically, destroy by fire, this two-story structure provided additional space for city offices and a jail. The Fire station doors have been modernized to accommodate new equipment. City Hall was relocated in 1954 and the jail was moved in the early 1970s. This five-story brick tower with mansard roof was originally used to dry the canvas fire hoses." A Walk Through Yesterday in Cedarburg
