Additional Information:ROUND ARCHED WINDOWS, SEGMENTAL ARCHED DOOR. AT THE TIME MANNING HAD THIS HOUSE BUILT HE ALSO PLATTED AN ADDITION BY THE RIVER AND PURCHASED A MILL. HIS FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS OVERWHELMED HIM AND HE LOST IT ALL. HE THEN BECAME ACTIVE IN LOCAL POLITICS. E.S. GRISWOLD BOUGHT THE HOUSE FROM MANNING IN 1886. GRISWOLD WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN STARTING THE LOCAL LIBRARY. HIS WIFE, HATTIE TYNG, WAS A PUBLISHED POET. Built ca.1868 for Joseph S. Manning, proprietor of the Columbus Flouring Mills, this is one of the city's best Italianate style houses.
