A coursed native stone tower structure that has a segmental relieving entrance. The steel tank and reservoir were added in 1922. The structure originally had a windmill which was removed in the 1930s. The structure is architecturally significant because it is one of three examples of 19th century stone construction that remain in Benton. More important, the water tower has become the visual landmark that identifies Benton geographically from many miles away in the surrounding countryside. |
