All summer long Old World Wisconsin offers the chance to step back in time - to share stories, learn living traditions, and try new things that make memories for the future.

Summer Highlights:

Carriage Rides: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in June, July and August

12-3 pm. Once you arrive, sign up across from The Creamery in the Crossroads Village to reserve you spot. Each ride costs 1 Time Travel Token per person ($5, available at the Museum Store), and spaces are limited. Each horse drawn ride last 20 to 30 minutes.

June 23: Midsummer Magic

Join the Old World Foundation for their popular Midsummer Magic fundraiser-   complete with 4 stages of live music, vintage vehicles, silent auction and raffle. Sample gourmet foods, sodas, coffees, wine and beer from southeastern Wisconsin's best restaurants, caterers, wineries and craft breweries. Our thanks to the Hegwood Family, Presenting Sponsor.

July 4: Independence Day Celebration

Celebrate the spirit of Independence Day in 19th century America.  Make ice cream, play games and enter the famous greased pole contest!  The July 4th event includes a pie eating contest, a parade and live music! 

July 15: Ice Cream Social

Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at the Caldwell Farmers’ Club Hall. We’re partnering with Sassy Cow Creamery for this fun, and delicious event.  More details coming soon!

In 2018 we will not be hosting World of Little House, but we offer hands on experiences every day that let Laura Fans of all ages bring the Little House to life. We welcome you to come dressed in bonnets and aprons and keep Laura’s world alive at Old World Wisconsin!

Location Information

Old World Wisconsin documents the settlement of 19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin. It comprises an 1870s crossroads village and 10 ethnic farmsteads located on 576 acres of wooded hills in the Southern Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest.
