Donald Rock Wayside Park Dedication

Image

Two people walk near a large rock formation in a wooded area with a picnic table in the foreground. The occasion was the opening of a new wayside park located along Highway 92 between Mt. Horeb and Mt. Vernon. It was named Donald Rock Wayside Park in honor of John S. Donald. The plaque reads: "The site was bequeathed by Mr. Donald, who died in 1934. He served the state as senator and secretary of state, and was a sponsor of the State Highway Aid law of 1911, which formed the framework for the state's highway system."
