It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This bridge replaced an earlier structure in place since 1918. Designed by the Chicago firm of Hazelet & Erdal, the bridge was constructed by C.R. Meyers & Sons Co. of Oshkosh from steel members fabricated by the Milwaukee Bridge Company. The City of Oshkosh, Winnebago County and the State of Wisconsin split equally the $1,039,500 cost. Scherzer Rolling-Lift type of bascule bridge. 2016- "This five-span bridge over the Fox River consists of a central, Scherzer Rolling-Lift, double-leaf bascule span with two post-and-beam spans to either side. The crossing (including abutments) is 565 feet long and 58 feet wide. It carries two lanes of traffic in each direction and has 5-foot raised sidewalks on each side. The bridge is anchored to substantial concrete abutments, as well as two concrete intermediate piers. Two massive concrete piers support the bascule span and its operating machinery. The bridge beams are fabricated from riveted steel plates and angles. A two-story bridge house built with concrete is located on the east side of the nmth bascule pier. It is marked by several inset concrete panels and window openings. The railing consists of four, thin horizontal metal chords. The bridge plate cites "HAZELET & ERDAL, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS." This bridge replaced in 1957 an earlier crossing built in 1918. Designed by the Chicago firm of Hazelet & Erdal, the bridge was constructed by C.R. Meyers & Sons Co. of Oshkosh from steel members fabricated by the Milwaukee Bridge Company.
