Additional Comments This 2-story Romanesque Revival building was constructed in 1900 as a variety store (and later served as a hardware and implement store). It is rectangular in plan with brick walls and a flat roof. The front elevation faces west and features a bank of three shop windows with wood panel bulkhead wall below and a recessed entry containing a metal-framed glass door at the north end of the façade. The entry recess is flanked by decorative, painted iron columns. The door is accessed via a concrete ramp with a metal handrail along one side; the exposed side of the ramp is clad in brick veneer. A canvas awning spans the façade above the storefront with wood panels above. Five patterned brick panels are located above the first story. Their placement is mirrored by the placement of five 1-over-1 windows at the second story with a continuous stone sill. Each window features a round-arched transom that is currently obscured via opaque paneling. A row of five multiple-coursed brick arches caps the second-story windows. Above this is a rectangular panel of patterned brickwork that spans the façade. The façade is capped by a brick cornice of corbelled brick.
