In 1964, the bank returned to the location at the corner of South Knowles Avenue and East Second Street, where the Masonic Lodge was still located, and the New Richmond City Hall had recently vacated. For more information on the New Richmond City Hall, refer to the Government Chapter. The bank building was significantly remodeled in 1964. In 1988, the bank building was extensively remodeled with large additions at a cost of 1.35 million dollars and renamed the First National Community Bank.
This one story commercial building has a flat roof and a brick and concrete stucco exterior fabric. Brick pilaster with stone capitals are here. The front door is wood and has sidelights. The photo is a side view. Alterations have detracted from the integrity of this building to the extent that it has no architectural significance.
In 1892 this was the site of a one story frame building with a shingled roof. It was divided into a watch and jewelry shop on the north and offices on the south, with a space for storage in the east part. By 1892 this was a two story brick building with slate roof and it houses a drugstore. Destroyed in the 1899 tornado, it was rebuilt as a one story brick building with a slate roof. The manufacturer's Bank was located here until about 1917 (see SC 24-32). In 1923 the 1st National Bank was here and stayed until 1964 (see SC 24013). Breault's was established in New Richmond in 1951 at 240 S. Knowles (SC 24-8). In 1956 it moved to 215 S. Knowles (See SC 24-30). In 1967 it moved in here. The building has no historical significance and is not associated with any significant person or event. Its development parallels that of the rest of the business district.
