President Wilson makes his plea for war gardens, 1917

The President to the People

In April of 1917, President Woodrow Wilson appealed to the American people to help provide food for the war effort through gardening and farming. His letter to the Americans was reprinted in the May 1917 edition of The Garden Magazine.
