ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Bellinger commanded NC-1, one of the two flying boats that failed to make the trans-Atlantic crossing during the Navy's 1919 effort. After service in the Atlantic and Pacific theatres, Bellinger retired as a vice admiral in 1949. This image is a postcard from the scrapbook of Milwaukee pioneer aviator, John Kaminski. It is not known when or why Kaminski acquired it, but it is thought they had became acquainted during their training at North Island in 1912.
