Dam at Taliesin
Five women pose at the dam built by Frank Lloyd Wright at his home near Spring Green, Wisconsin. A sixth figure is obscured by tree branches on the right. The distant trees and hills are reflected in the small reservoir. Wright dammed the stream below his house and studio to create a water garden. A small hydroelectric plant at the dam provided electric power for the house and buildings. This photograph was submitted to the Wisconsin Rural School Survey by Selma Eidsmoe, teacher at the Farmer's Grove School in Green County, as her favorite spot to visit. |
