Everything Changed But The Paint
| Advertisement with color illustrations for the 1943 "prime mover" reads: "1941 Nothing changed but the paint Everything changed but the paint 1943". The poster advertises tractors that are "a revelation in crawler power, maneuverability and fighting quality... a high-speed performer under heavy load... a go-getter whose rugged construction and ease of handling will carry far beyond the Victory." The advertisement looks ahead to the end of the war when the crawler will be needed to rebuild war damaged areas. The poster depicts a battle where the prime mover is transporting weapons and soldiers in a battle. In the distance is another prime mover and an explosion. The top of the poster offers a closer look at the front of the prime mover. Flap attached to the poster reads on front: "Battlegrounds Are Proving Grounds for INTERNATIONAL Post-War Power A Page in Leading National Magazines (Turn flap for publications, dates, and circulation)". The back of the flap reads: "This Advertisement Appears in These and Other National Magazines, with a Total Circulation of More Than TEN MILLION: Saturday Evening Post - January 22, Collier's Weekly - - January 29, Fortune Magazine - - February, Time Magazine - - -January 31, Forbes Magazine - - - February, Newsweek - - - - - February 7, United States News - -February 4, Business Week - - - January 29, Nation's Business - - - February". |
