Christening ceremony for the S.S. <i>Harvester</i>. The ship was built for the Wisconsin Steel Company, a subsidiary of International Harvester. The 545-foot all steel freighter was built by the American Shipbuilding Company using the "Isherwood" system of design. Attending the ceremony were: Miss Marie Smith, daughter of the Captain (breaking the bottle); F.R. Gadd of the Chicago WSW; H.F. Hughes, International Harvester Traffic Department; Captain William Smith of Algonac; Chief Engineer Wallace Tomey of Cleveland; R.H. Hibble of San Francisco; Lloyds' representative John French of Cleveland; Marine Architect Robert Logan; Lindsey Wallace of the American Shipbuilding Company; Mrs. Wallace Tomey and daughter.
