John Craig, Max Gene Nohl (seated in the dive suit), Dr. Edgar End and a fourth unknown person looking in. The location is the Milwaukee County Emergency Hospital in Milwaukee inside the decompression chamber, probably in 1937. Max was using his new self-contained dive suit and testing a new helium-oxygen mixture that Dr. End devised. As a result of these experiments, along with newly devised self-contained dive gear, Max Nohl was able to set a new record deep dive in Lake Michigan on December 1, 1937.
