"NORWAY, Forms the Northwest extremity of Europe, occupying the North-west portion of the Scandinavian Peninsular. The Capital City is Christiania. The country is Mountainous and has only the two seasons, Summer and Winter. The early history is enveloped in fable, the really authentic beginning with "Fair-Haired Harold" in the Ninth Century. The people are a hardy, intelligent race, fairly educated. The picture represents a typical Norwegian Girl in the usual costume of the country. The Singer Manufacturing Co. have offices in all the large places, and that the people appreciate its worth is demonstrated by the large number of machines sold." |
