K-1 Coast Guard Truck on Beach
Two uniformed men sit inside an International K-1 U.S. Coast Guard truck parked on a beach while another man speaks to them through the open passenger door. The original caption reads: "Oversize Tires for Trucks on Beach Patrol: To the fighting United States Coast Guard is assigned the sizable task of guarding our far-flung shore lines. Close watch is continuously maintained from out-of-way watch towers and by armed beach patrols. Vehicles which serve the numerous beach outposts are equipped with oversize tires as shown on the half-ton International pickup in the illustration to facilitate movement in sand." |
