Emmett Till Defendant
Roy Bryant, one of the two men charged with the murder of Emmett Till who had allegedly whistled at Bryant's wife, Carolyn. She sits at Bryant's right, and Roy holds their two sons in his lap. Bryant was acquitted of the murder charge, but the incident did much to galvanize the civil rights movement of the 1960s. |
