Group Portrait of Winnebago County Asylum Staff
Outdoor group portrait of the Winnebago County Asylum administrative and nursing staff posed around a bench near a tree. Included in the portrait are the Superintendent, E.E. Manuel, his wife Olphene (Stromme) Manuel, Matron of the Asylum (both in the back row, far left side). Next to them is Superintendent, Elmer E. Manuel (third from the left, back row). In the front row, wearing a string of beads is Neita Faye (Manuel) Grueder, daughter of Elmer and Olphene and wife of George V. Grueder. Neita was Matron of the Asylum from 1929 to 1942. Visible behind the group is a building, most likely a Winnebago County Asylum building. |
