You Are Lost
Uncle Sam, labeled "NORTH," is holding a Union flag out to a man who has fallen off of a dock loaded with provisions. The dock has cannons along its front and a sailing ship is in the background. An American eagle is standing on the dock. The drowning man's hat is labeled: "SOUTH" and an alligator labeled: "SECESSION" is about to bite him. Uncle Sam is saying: "I say old fellow just hold on to this Flag or "YOU ARE LOST." Black ink on a beige envelope. Illustration printed on envelope, mounted on a decorative border and collected in an album. |
