Abraham Lincoln as a Pharmacist
Lincoln is portrayed as a pharmacist with the names of the Union generals on some of the products that surround him in an apothecary. Some examples: "Scott's extirpation powders, sure cure for rattle snake bite" and "Butler's mineral pills." The products are meant to cure the illness of secession. For example: "Lincoln's renowned Rebel exterminator warranted not to spoil in warm climates" and "Preserved grape in canisters." The Confederate leaders are shown being hung in specimen bottles. Red and blue ink on beige envelope, image on left side. Image printed on envelope, mounted on a decorative border and collected in an album. |
