This image is one of many that was created for in "Northern Wisconsin: A Hand-Book for the Homeseeker" (1896), a promotional survey for the Wisconsin College of Agriculture by W.A. Henry. Henry was the Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin.
The log buildings of the farm illustrate progressive stages in construction from the crude log cabin with puncheon roof at the right to the 1 1/2 story log house at the let with square-hewn logs and shingles roof. |
