2017 Historic Restoration Award Winner Announced
The Madisen Maher Architects of Milwaukee, Wisconsin received the 2017 Historic Restoration Award from the Wisconsin Historical Society for successfully converting the four buildings that comprise River Place Lofts-The Historic Beam House into a 64-unit apartment complex.
About the Buildings
These four buildings were originally constructed between 1871 and 1874 for use as a tannery. Afterwards, the buildings stood vacant for many years and were heavily damaged by fire in 2001.
About the Restoration Award
The award goes to the best restoration work of a Wisconsin historic property that involves comprehensive work to restore a historic building, structure, object, or site.
