It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. PART OF THE PROPOSED DOWNTOWN MARINETTE HISTORIC DISTRICT. BLDG MOVED TO THIS SITE ACCORDING TO THE BAY-LAKE REGIONAL PLANNING COMM. MAY BE DEMOLISHED. BLDG CONTAINED MARINETTE'S & MENOMINEE'S 1ST TELEPHONE EXCHANGE. TALL SEGMENTAL ARCH WINDOWS W/STILTED PEAKED ARCH LINTELS. MOULDED, BRACKETED & DENTILLED EAVES OVER CORNICE. The oldest building is the old business block that sits between the department store and the wholesale warehouse building. This building was moved right after 1900 from the block where the department store is now located to where it is today. By 1910 Lauerman was using this building as a part of his complex. The Lauerman Department Store was built in three stages. The front section was built in 1904, and additions were made to it in 1913, 1919 and 1924. The wholesale warehouse was built in 1920 In 1992 the buildings were renovated and restored. Originally housed the department store. Building was moved over one lot to its current location and was then used as a warehouse. 2023: Update photo for Marinette Main Street Commercial Historic District DOE. See AHI #22781 and 22786.
