Celebrate the vibrant cultural heritage of Southeastern Wisconsin at the Holiday Folk Fair, a treasured tradition and a program of the International Institute of Wisconsin. For more than eight decades, this event has brought together different ethnic communities that define our region—honoring the customs, cuisines, music, and artistry that connect generations.
Throughout the weekend, experience the rhythms, flavors, and stories that shape our shared heritage. The All Nations Theater spotlights local ethnic groups preserving traditional dance and music. At the World Café, savor time-honored recipes passed down through families and communities. The Tanzhauz invites everyone to join in song and dance, celebrating unity through movement and melody.
Visitors can relax at the Coffee House, enjoying homemade pastries and music that echo the spirit of our neighborhoods. Along Heritage Lane, explore interactive exhibits that highlight the traditions and folkways that continue to enrich Wisconsin life. The International Bazaar offers handmade crafts and cultural artifacts, while the American Culinary Federation Chef’s Stage showcases local chefs preparing traditional dishes rooted in ethnic heritage. The cultural booths will include exhibits highlighting aspects of daily life in Wisconsin during the time of the American Revolution.
The Fair begins with Education Day on Friday, November 21, when more than 5,000 K–4th grade students experience hands-on lessons in culture and community.
