About the Event
On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The journey toward this historic milestone is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our nation’s past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and look ahead toward the future we want to create for the next generation and beyond. The Wisconsin Historical Society is proud to feature events hosted by our local affiliates and other community partners as part of the statewide America250 initative.
Join us for a trip down memory lane with a public program entitled "Hey Race Fans! History and Memories of the Tomah-Sparta Speedway" by Jarrod Roll and Greg Oliver. The program will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Sparta United Methodist Church.
To accommodate a larger audience, this program will be held at the Sparta United Methodist Church, 210 N. Court St., not at the Local History Room. Parking is available in the Museum/Monroe County Parking Lot off Central Ave. Please use the K Street entrance.
Admission is free, with a suggested $1 donation to support future programming. For more information, please visit www.monroecountyhistory.org/news or call 608-269-8680.
