Step into the ring and show us your best boxing stance!

The Wisconsin History Makers Tour will bring history directly to local communities in every region of the state through pop-up exhibits, object displays, public programs, outdoor installations, and other activities.

Step into the ring and show us your best boxing stance! This image is part of a collection of photographs documenting activities of the Milwaukee Urban League, founded in 1919. Part of the National Urban League, it’s a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment, equity, and social justice. The League sponsors events and activities, including the boxing program taught by professional boxer Baby Joe Gans.
