A group of war correspondents, soldiers and officers pose outdoors on the sand in front of palm trees for a portrait in Guam. Many are holding a beverage and plate. In the lower right corner is written, "Guam, April 1945." All identified people have a number written on them in ink. Their corresponding names were typewritten on a separate piece of paper. Robert Doyle was a civilian war correspondent for the Milwaukee Journal during World War II, covering the experiences of Wisconsin troops in the 32nd "Red Arrow" Division, an infantry division of the United States Army National Guard. The "Red Arrow" Division consisted mainly of soldiers from Wisconsin and Michigan. |
