Cassius Clay at the Pan-American Games

Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., who later changed his name to Muhammad Ali, (white trunks) fighting Amos Johnson in the 178 pound final of the Pan-American Games boxing trials at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Field House. Both were 17 years old, Johnson earned a split decision. It was Clay's first loss in 37 fights.
