Kasdin's Fancy Groceries & Meats
View from street of Saul Kasdin posing in front of Kasdin's Fancy Groceries & Meats, a store at 402 West Lakeside Street. Merchandise and prices are displayed in the window, "Pot Roast 17¢ per #" and "Tomatoes 2# for 19¢" and "Red Top Malt Syrup." A Schoep's Home-ade Ice Cream sign stands on the terrace. Flats of plants (probably vegetables) are stacked on crates against the foundation. In the window on the right, is a sign, with food items attached, for the South Side Picnic to be held on Sunday, June 14th, 1931. It reads, "Your Merchants Share With U, Trade with them, Board Compliments, Capital City Lumber Company." |
