Poster advertising screenings of Emile de Antonio's 1969 documentary "In the Year of the Pig," as promoted by the Committee on Vietnam in New Zealand. The Committee on Vietnam was a group protesting New Zealand's involvement in the Vietnam War, and — according to a note by de Antonio on the back of the poster — "In the Year of the Pig" was made the official film of the committee. The anti-war protest movement in New Zealand began in the mid 1960s and ended in 1972, when New Zealand's troops were withdrawn from the war. Poster has a purple ink reproduction of a still from the movie, showing a young soldier whose helmet says "Make War Not Love." The title of the film appears in black text in the upper-left corner of the film. In the lower center of the image is a white box with black text, which has been designed to allow for local venues to list the details of their screenings. The text reads: Widely hailed as the best full-length documentary on the war in Indochina, "In the Year of the Pig" is a film that you cannot afford to miss.
