Friends and co-workers honored Esther Williams at a retirement dinner at Camp Brandenburg. Williams is retiring after 38 years in Girl Scouts, ten of which she served in the Blackhawk Council. She was influential in the acquisition and development of Camp Brandenburg, a troop camp for local scouts and in the establishment of the resident camp, Camp Blackhawk in northern Wisconsin. Shown, left to right, are: Gene Glover, a past president of the Blackhawk Council of Girl Scouts; Esther Williams; and Mrs. J.O. Wilson, also a past resident. |
