Ninth International Congress Banquet Menu
| Front and back covers for the Ninth International Medical Congress banquet, with a female figure draped in a gown with stars and stripes, a head wrap with a star over her forehead, and beside her, a shield with stars and stripes on her left, and an eagle on her right. She holds a banner in her hands that reads, "Washington September 1887". Seals of the various states presumably in attendance appear on five-point stars or on a rainbow across a sky filled with clouds and the rays of an unseen sun. The back cover features an eagle perched on a rock formation, on top of which are arrayed six flags, encircled by the flag of the United States. A striped red, white, and blue ribbon ties the paperboard pages together. |
