Ninth International Congress Banquet Menu

Ninth International Congress Banquet Menu | Print | Wisconsin Historical Society
Interior menu pages of the Ninth International Medical Congress, with a woman in a head wrap and skirt decorated with stars pouring liquid from a jug into a bowl and stirring, on a table from which are suspended a fish, wild game, and a turtle. Behind her diners wearing flags on their heads sit at tables awaiting their meal, empty plates in front of them. One of the diners is a cow; another appears to represent a native American. The other menu page features a man with a goatee, jacket, and striped pants holding champagne bottles in both hands with popping corks flying in the air. A basket with three other bottles surrounded by leaves and bunches of grapes is in front of him. Six more bottles are in a row beside him, with banners of national seals and also popping corks into the air. The pages are gilt-edged.
