Part two of four images which make up a panorama. For the complete panorama see Image ID: 10495. Although the second Wisconsin State Capitol (popularly known as "Doty's Washbowl") was much smaller than its two successors, it nevertheless held symbolic and visual importance for the people of pre-Civil War Wisconsin. This role was enhanced by its central location in Doty's plat of Madison. |
