Kolb scored from third to tally the first run of the game on a Sandy Alomar bunt single in the second inning of the Braves' final game of the 1964 season. The Braves won 6-0. The final inning was pitched by Warren Spahn who also pitched the first inning of the Braves' first game in Milwaukee in 1953. It was widely believed that this would be the final Braves home game in Milwaukee. Indeed, an agreement was reached to move the team to Atlanta for the 1965 season, but the move was blocked by a lawsuit filed by Bud Selig, a minority stockholder in the team. The Braves played one more season in Milwaukee before moving to Atlanta. |
