A man (Henry Derleth) wears an overcoat while posed on the middle of the boarding stairway attached to a partially visible passenger airliner. The original caption states, "Henry Derleth, star end on the University of Wisconsin's 1959 Big 10 football champion teams, boards a plane at Madison Municipal airport en route to New York and London. Derleth is one of six outstanding athletes in the nation selected to serve as counselors and escorts for 72 newspaperboys who won trips to London and Paris in the 1960 'Young Columbus IV' contest sponsored by Parade magazine and their local newspapers." |
