Frank G. Lenz

Portrait of Frank Lenz on his safety bicycle which he rode on a round-the-world tour. He is posed on a country road lined with fences and telegraph or telephone poles. Several other bicycles lean against a fence nearby and other wheelmen mill about the scene. Lenz carries a box camera in a case on his back and wears a cap that reads "Outing," the name of the publication that sponsored his tour and published his travelogue. A plate on the rear fender also advertises for the magazine reading, "World Tour, Outing, 1892." |
