New University of Wisconsin YMCA Building Cornerstone Laid
The cornerstone for the new University of Wisconsin YMCA building at the corner of W. Johnson and N. Brooks Streets is laid. Copies of the bible, a Wisconsin State Journal, a Capital Times, the program from the U.W. commencement, and university and YMCA documents are placed in a box sealed in the cornerstone. Shown (L-R) are Governor Walter Kohler; U.W. President E.B. Fred; A. Matt Werner, President of the U.W. Board of Regents; Robert Schumpert, general secretary of the YMCA; and Roy Yamahiro, President of the YMCA. |
