Painting
General George Rogers Clark

Quarter plate daguerreotype of a painting of General George Rogers Clark, as an older man. Clark is most well known for his role in the defense of the Northwest territory during the American Revolution. The portrait is a front facing, bust figure. The portrait has considerable fading, and at one time there may have been gold applied to the lapels and shoulders of the portrait, but this can only be faintly seen now. |
