Spencer Tracy in "Sky Devils," Howard Hughes's silly World War I comedy. Tracy (center) and William Boyd play two inept stowaways who end up on a ship that was taking aviators to Europe. With them in this scene is Ann Dvorak. It is likely that the vintage airplanes used in the film are planes that Hughes purchased for his 1930 film "Hell's Angels." |

It is difficult to know why Milwaukee-born and raised Tracey, one of the all time great motion picture actors, chose to be associated with "Sky Devil's," a film that one reviewed called "relentlessly silly." |
