50,000th International Harvester Scout
The 50,000 International Harvester Scout is rolled off the assembly line at the Fort Wayne, Indiana Works Plant. Left-frontal view. Original caption reads: "A production milestone is marked at International Harvester Company's Fort Wayne, Ind., works where the 50,000th Scout was recently produced. Checking the unit, a rear-wheel drive model with 4-passenger capacity and bucket front seats, is H.A. Torgersen (right, works manager. In rear seat are V.A. Hart (left), superintendent of Scout assembly, and M.E. Hayhurst, works auditor, as Wayne Van Ryn, final assembly employe, drives it off the line. Introduced in January, 1961, the Scout has become the largest selling model in the International truck line. MT-2378." Sign on Scout reads: " the 50,000th Scout built at Fort Wayne."
