Selling Dried Corn At the Municipal Market

A member of the Dane County Council of Defense Food Board Women's Committee sells dried corn at the farmer's market. Women's organizations sold wheat substitutes to insure compliance with food conservation measures. Over 3000 lbs. were sold in 1918. In 1917, the Catholic Women's Club installed a food drier at the market, which they operated as a patriot's work. |
