Scouts In Various Scenes*Photos & Color Transparencies From Jim Allen: "1976 Scout diesel engine press images. In 1976, International introduced a diesel option into the Scout line. It was not quite an industry first but it was the first one for the U.S. SUV and light truck market in the '70s. The engine was a 198 cubic inch Chrysler-Nissan CN-33 diesel six cylinder that made 81 horsepower in naturally aspirated form. International would dub it the 6-33 and it would be offered all the way to the end of the Scout in 1980. This is a two image press 8x10 that was sent out in press releases late in 1975."
