Men watching Cock Fight
In her journal from India, Carrie mentions cock fights, describing them as a "barbaric form of entertainment". Here is shown a group of men watching one such fight. In the background is a Banyan tree, Carrie's favorite type of tree. In her journal from India, she writes, "I never dreamed that I would ever see [a banyan tree] but they are plentiful in India, Ceylon, and the tropical islands". |
