A publicity still of Fred MacMurray from "Dive Bomber" (WB, 1941) in which a crew member is adjusting the helmet of MacMurray's pressurized flight suit. Before fully pressurized cabins, this equipment was necessary to protect pilots from the effects of long periods at high altitudes. MacMurray, who was raised in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, is best known for his television roles. During his early career he was much in demand in Hollywood as a leading man. |
